Rules
outbid.news is a public leaderboard. Rank comes from completed payment only. No votes, no private weighting, no feed algorithm.
How ranking works
- New spots start at $2. The site only accepts whole-dollar bid amounts in the public interface.
- To take the top position, bid at least $5 above the current top amount. Smaller bids can still land lower on the board.
- If the same URL or @handle is already listed, bidding again raises that listing. You must bid at least $1 above its current total.
- Equal amounts keep their earlier order. Older completed bids stay above newer equal bids.
What can be listed
- Public article URLs, product URLs, launch pages, company pages, and X handles are allowed.
- Chat invites, shortened links, tracking links, adult content, and illegal content are not accepted.
- Query strings and fragments are stripped before ranking, so referral parameters do not create separate entries.
After payment
A paid listing is public. Clicks go to the normalized destination URL. The position can change whenever another completed bid ranks above it.
